how we got started

Founder and owner Shirley Kautman-Jones began the company in 1980 as a small basement operation. A natural in the kitchen, Kautman-Jones would share recipes and spice blends with her coworkers to help them create easy and delicious meals. Her spice blends and accompanying recipes were an instant hit with her coworkers. Recognizing that people were searching for ways to make simple gourmet meals at home, Kautman-Jones began to sell her spice blends at local markets and fairs, and Country Home Creations started its journey.

Importantly, we've kept our commitment to quality and still handcraft our mixes. Shirley still hand-selects the highest quality ingredients possible, from herbs and spices to fruits and vegetables.
